Sharpness
f/2: It is super sharp and contrasty wide open with only a hint of Chromatic Aberration which begins clearing at f/2.2 and gone by f/2.5.
f/2.8: From here on to f/10 it just continues to get sharper and only f/2 you’ll ever see any drop in sharpness.
f/11: You will start to see a little diffraction and continue onto f/22

Vignetting

There is a fair but of vignetting at f2 and immediately begins to clear at f/2.5 and almost gone by f/2.8. From f/3.5-4 its basically gone.

Bokeh

This is a Bokeh machine! I can’t think of a lens that I have shot with such amazing background blur and image pop keeping rich color and contrast and smooth contrast areas. Its a dream to shoot!

Distortion
There is hardly if any pincushion distortion.

This Canon 135mm f/2L is the best 135mm lens I have ever shot. With really close focusing it also does most of my macro work with extremely sharp images at all stops. The only reason I would say pass on it is if you are shooting in tight quarters then a 85mm might work better but if space isn’t an issue then this lens is the best for portrait work. If you have the space and your blurring the background for portrait work this is the best lens to use. A 180mm or 200mm are great as well but can start to produce flat images and a 85mm will not blur the background as well. With enough space this Canon 135mm f/2L USM EF is a dream of a lens.
