Sharpness
f/1.7 A little soft with lower contrast and a bit of spherical and chromatic aberration.
f/2 Sharpens up a little bit with better contrast but still a fair bit of chromatic aberration.
f/2.8: Sharpens up nicely with good contrast and less chromatic aberrations.
f/3.5: Sharper yet with more contrast and almost no chromatic aberrations.
f/4: Sharper yet.
f/8: Sharper yet but the start of some diffusion.

Vignetting

Quite a bit of vignetting at f/1.7 which quickly starts to clear at f/2 and almost gone by f/3.5.

Distortion
Normal amount of barrel distortion common for most 50mm lenses.

Bokeh
The blur is not too bad but suffers from spherical aberration which is distracting.

This lens has pretty good optics stopped down to f/2. It is built like a tank and very easy to use. The spherical aberration bothers me a bit because I like to shoot portraits with the backgrounds blurred. The bokeh is a bit funny because of this.
If you find one for cheap you can’t go wrong but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find one.
